With the Spring Racing Carnival not that far away, the man who dominates the Group One Carnival’s Glen Boss has moved to Melbourne to ride.
Glen is best known for his three Melbourne Cup wins on champion mare Makybe Diva. He was a star at Sydney’s autumn carnival this year with wins in the Golden Slipper on Sebring and Doncaster Handicap on Triple Honour.
Glenn has won more than 60 Group 1 races.

Turning Dreams Into Trophies - Life story of a young, wild child from country Queensland who always had a need for speed. When Glen first started out he struggled to deal with all the pressure and struggles of professional sport. He was down and out, ready to quit when he set himself a challenge that if his luck did not turn around that weekend he would quit racing and find himself a real job. He rode four winners that weekend and has not turned back since, making him now the most successful jockey in Australia and one of the most sought after jockeys worldwide. Glen shares his highs and lows and how he has climbed out of the lows and stayed on top of the highs.
The Day My Life Ended…..and Started Again - Life was great for Glen Boss, beautiful wife, two wonderful kids, financially secure and at the time racing for a multi-billionaire in Asia, until one slip off the back of a horse and his C2 was shattered. Laying there on a race track in Macau with a broken neck, tingles in his left arm and could not move his feet. Waiting for the paramedics his whole life flashed before his eyes. His family, his career, never walking again and death. He was airlifted to Hong Kong for urgent surgery, when he was told that he had shattered his C2 (the same vertebrae as Christopher Reeve) and there was a chance that he would never walk again. After lifesaving surgery by one of the world’s leading neurosurgeons and six months in a head to waist cast, to doctors amazement, he was in the saddle again. This experience changed his life for the better and made him who he is today.

My Relationship with The Diva – The bond that was formed with Makybe Diva over the past five years. The feeling was surreal, he felt like they were on a run away train and there was nothing that could stop them or get in their way. “She gave me feelings and experiences that I know will never surface again and for that I’m so grateful”. The feeling of turning into the straight at Flemington, 200,000 people cheering for us, millions watching worldwide and all of a sudden realising that she was about to make history…..words can’t explain.
